    ◆Definition:

    "ભૂતકાળનો ચોક્ક્સ સમય અથવા સમયગાળો આપેલ હોય તો તેને ચાલુ ભૂતકાળમાં દર્શાવામાં આવે છે."

    ● સહાયકારક ક્રિયાપદ તરીકે 'was/were' મુુુકવા.

    ● ક્રિયાપદનું Ingવારૂ રૂપ મૂકવું.


    વાક્યરચના:


    ◆વિધાન હકાર:


    > કર્તા(+)Was/Were(+)Ingવારુ રૂપ(+) કર્મ કે અન્યશબ્દો.

    > I was teaching you Cont.present tense at 11:00 a.m. Yesterday.


    ◆વિધાન નકાર:


    > કર્તા(+)Wasn't/Weren't(+)Ingવારુ રૂપ(+) કર્મ કે અન્યશબ્દો.

    > You weren't learning simple present tense from me from 11:30 to 12:15 p.m. yesterday.



    ◆પ્રશ્નાર્થ હકાર:


    > Was/Were(+)કર્તા (+)Ingવારુ રૂપ(+) કર્મ કે અન્યશબ્દો?

    > Was I teaching you cont.present tense at 11:00 a.m. yesterday?



    ◆પ્રશ્નાર્થ નકાર:


    > Wasn't/Weren't(+)કર્તા (+)Ingવારુ રૂપ(+) કર્મ કે અન્યશબ્દો?

    > Weren't you learning simple present tense from me from 11:30 to 12:15 p.m. yesterday?

    Examples:


    (1)She was binding thread around the tree daily.

    (2)I was bringing fruits for my children daily.

    (3)Those masons were building many houses every year.

    (4)They were burning garbage near our school daily.

    (5)I was buying toys for my children.

    (6)That man was catching the jabalpur express at 10A.M. daily.

    (7)That Child was creeping upon the floor.

    (8)We weren't dealing with them.

    (9)Those labourers were digging pits near our school  daily.

    (10)was he working in the office?


    ઉપયોગો:


    (1) ભૂતકાળનો ચોક્ક્સ સમય અથવા સમયગાળો આપેલ હોય તો તેને ચાલુ ભુતકાળમાં દર્શાવામાં આવે છે.

    Examples:

    > She was drawing a picture at 5 p.m. yesterday.
    > My mother was washing clothes from 8 to 9 a.m. yesterday.


    (2) ભૂતકાળનું વર્ણન ચાલુ ભૂતકાળમાં કરવામાં આવે છે.

    Examples:

    > We were writing homework then.
    > They were discussing about you at that time.



    (3) ભૂતકાળમાં એક ઘટના બની ત્યારે બીજી ઘટનાની ક્રિયા ચાલુ હતી તે દર્શાવા જે ઘટના બની તેને when સાથે સાદા ભૂતકાળમાં અને જે ઘટનાની ક્રિયા ચાલુ હતી તેને ચાલુ ભૂતકાળમાં દર્શાવામાં આવે છે.



    > When(+)સાદો ભુતકાળ(+),..(+)લાંબાગાળાનું ક્રિયાપદ તો, ચાલુ ભુતકાળ.

    Examples:

    > When we reached at the sea-shore, Children were making sandy castles.

    > Children were making sandy castles when we reached at the sea-shore.

    > While children were making sandy castles, we reached at the sea-shore.

    > We reached at the sea-shore while children were making sandy castles.


    (4)The continuous past tense is used to indicate that two events were in progress at the same time.

    Examples:

    > While I was eating lunch, she was serving food to me.
    > While I was explaing to you, you were understanding that point.


    કાળસૂચક શબ્દો:


     >Then = ત્યારે
    > Thosedays = તે દિવસોમાં
    > In the future = ભવિષ્યમાં
    > At That Time/Moment/Hour = તે સમયે/ક્ષણે/કલાકે

    Note:

    જો ઉપરના કાળસૂચક શબ્દોમાંથી કોઈ પણ શબ્દ વાક્યમાં આવે તો તે વાક્યને ચાલુ ભવિષ્યકાળનું વાક્ય સમજવું.
